Before & After: A Catch-All Laundry Room Gets Beautiful and Functional
Not everyone is brave enough to show off their laundry room like Anna. Hers was the room that accumulated all of the extra “I-don’t-quite-know-what-to-do-with-this-right-now-so-I’m-going-to-leave-it-here-and-forget-all-about-it.” Finally enough was enough and Anna decided her laundry room should be functional for, you know, actual laundry. These were Anna’s goals: •A surface to sort and fold laundry comfortably. •A place to hang ironing.

How To Make the Most of Typical Rental Features: The Only Bathroom is Through the Bedroom
Once upon a time, I was flat-hunting in London and found an adorable one. The location was convenient and the space bright and sunny. The problem? The bathroom was located off the bedroom, meaning that guests would have to go past my bed in order to use it. Here’s how to make the most of this sometimes awkward layout: Though I immediately discounted that flat, I’ve since discovered that this layout isn’t as ridiculous (or rare) as I once thought.

Nobody Wants to Be the Noisy Neighbor: Tips for Keeping Your Sound Down
If there’s anything worse than having a noisy neighbor, it’s realizing that you are the noisy neighbor. Nobody goes around intending to be overheard by strangers, but then one day a neighbor knocks on your door and complains about the sound of your footsteps on his ceiling or says he can hear you singing to your cat, and then there’s nothing to do but tiptoe around in socks and worry that all your neighbors hate you.

Before & After: A Dixie Dresser Gets a Dramatic Upgrade
Angela says, “Sometimes you should just walk away from a craigslist sale,” but she must be a glutton for punishment because she still brought home this dilapidated Dixie dresser for just $40. It had chipping veneer, major leg damage and sagging in the center, so we were shocked to see this baby looking so lovely. How To Set The Table Properly
I often get my left and right confused, so it’s not surprising that setting a table properly was a complete mystery to me before my years in food service. Before & After: A Dark Eat-in Kitchen Gets Brightened!
While dark wood walls certainly have their place in the homes of certain styles, in this dutch colonial Kelly’s renovating, it wasn’t quite the desired look. Though cozy, the eat-in corner of this kitchen did have ample natural light and opened out onto the deck, so it had a lot of potential. Maggie started with a pair of Mid-Century tulip swivel chairs that she picked up at a flea market for only $42.
