Name: Dan Maddox + Alan Rauta of Cromatti Location: West Los Angeles, California Size: 2,200 square feet Years lived in: 7 years—Own Dan and Alan have been enjoying this modern and airy two-story home for about seven years. With ample room for entertaining, an indoor/outdoor shower combo and an outdoor gym, they have everything they could need under (and outside of) one roof.

Name: Honeywood Boutique and Workspace Location: Highland Park; Los Angeles, California Size: 900 square feet Years worked in: 1 year You may recall your heart skipping a beat when you perused Vanessa’s breathtaking Eagle Rock home last year. Well, prepare the defibrillator because Vanessa and her boyfriend Charlie have outdone themselves once again with their Highland Park shop and workspace, Honeywood.

Name: Stephen LaRue & Scott Peebles Location: Irish Channel; New Orleans, Louisiana Size: 900 square feet Years lived in: 3 years; Rented Sometimes a fresh start can bring one back full circle. For Stephen LaRue, his return to New Orleans after a long hiatus presented an opportunity for a clean slate. As an interior designer, he has had numerous residences over the years with about as many different styles, most recently rather sleek and modern.

Name: Isabelle and Nick Robertson Location: Ballard; Seattle, Washington Size: 1,700 square feet Years lived in: 7 years; Rented When Isabelle and Nick moved to Seattle from Brooklyn seven years ago, they moved into an empty warehouse owned by their in-laws. Previously occupied by a business, the space had no kitchen, no windows and only a urinal in the bathroom!

Name: Sasha Darling Location: Silver Lake; Los Angeles, California Size: 800 square feet Years lived in: 2 years; Rented I was first wowed by Sasha’s impressive style when I happened to wander into her gorgeous San Francisco boutique, Belljar. From the clothing, to the housewares, to the eye-popping jewelry, Belljar is impeccably curated. And I knew that whoever owned such a cool shop, had to have an equally impressive home.

Name: Amélie Location: Brussels, Belgium I was born in Brussels from French parents but was lucky to grow up in different countries and to discover new cultures. My childhood and teenage years were spent in the sunshine of Morocco and Cyprus, while I became more and more curious about art in New York. Seeking my roots, I studied communication and advertising in the City of Light: Paris; where I also started my first job as a communication officer in an art gallery.

Name: David Del Fonzo Location: Downtown; Los Angeles, CA Size: 750 square feet Years lived in: 1 month; Rented David’s spacious Downtown LA studio epitomizes the ideal bachelor pad. Sturdy, industrial materials are combined with plush fabrics and personal accents from David’s childhood to create a handsome and inviting space with a healthy dose of personality. In just 1 month, David has turned a stark, cavernous studio into a functional and cozy living space.

Name: Debbie Saslaw Location: Brooklyn, New York I have lived in New York with roommates for ten years, most of which were spent in a rent-controlled Williamsburg apartment that had every problem imaginable: bedbugs, mice, leaky ceilings, fires in the building, sketchy neighbors, a revolving door of couch-crashers, etc. I held onto it for a long time because of the price, and never thought I could find another deal in the same neighborhood.

Name: Thomas Davis + Justice, the dog Location: Virginia Highland; Atlanta, Georgia Size: 1100 square feet Years lived in: 2 years Conveniently located next to Atlanta’s popular BeltLine, Thomas has lucked out on a spacious condo that is both great for entertaining and a cozy night in. He’s stayed true to his love for simplicity and nature, and has achieved a modern look with a personal and inviting feel.

Name: Julie & Adam Location: Canmore, Alberta, Canada We live in a 1200 square foot [including attached garage] three story townhouse in the charming little tourist town of Canmore in the Canadian Rockies. We feel very fortunate to call this pretty little corner of the world home; the outdoors are a huge part of our lifestyle and are so excited to raise our son, Morris, with a love for the mountains. When we bought this home nearly three years ago it was a great blank canvas with good bones.

Name: Ariana Location: Paris, France We live in the 7ème arrondissement of Paris. It’s civilized to the point of distraction- if I walk home alone at night, the worst that could happen is an old lady might hit me with her Hermès bag. Our apartment is 70 square meters in an art deco building, with an additional 14 square meters spread out over two balconies. When we wake up every morning, we see the Eiffel Tower, Trocadero, and La Defense from one window.

Name: Kristen Pumphrey and Thomas Neuberger of P.F. Candle Co. Location:Arts District; Downtown Los Angeles, California Size: 1,700 square feet Years lived in: 1 year; Rent Kristen and Thomas, owners of P.F. Candle Co, began their operation, grass-roots-style, out of this downtown LA loft. Several employees, large shipments, and making the candles requires ample space, so they are lucky enough to have this amazing production space, plus an additional office that doubles as a showroom.

Name: Maeve Location: East Village, New York Our 733 square foot apartment is occupied by three recent college graduates (including myself!). Apartments in the city tend to get a very bad rap for being too small, so we really lucked out when we stumbled upon our two (read: converted from one) bedroom space. I have my own room and my roommates share the other, and we have more than enough space.
