In this second of the final series of posts showing off my completed home, I want to go in depth and share with you all I can – everything that went into this living room – a practice which is so important to our website. My whole house was copied, inspired and pulled from a thousand different ideas that I’d seen over the years and I would love it if this could have the same impact on others.

Back in the early spring of 2016 I tore down a little house my family had purchased 18 years earlier and, taking it on as finally my own and with money that I inherited when my father passed away, I rebuilt it from the ground up (actually below the ground, up) with the help of three wonderfully skilled people, John Berg (architect), Peter Germano (contractor) and Rebecca Robertson (interior designer). The project took nearly two years, allowing me to move in by Christmas 2018.

It is a 1972 31 footer. We dreamed of having a vintage Airstream for a few years and finally pulled the trigger on one. My husband did all the work. The shell was taken off the frame so framework/welding could be done.

It’s my first (and only) purchased home and I love it to pieces. The location is ideal, it holds all the necessities and it feels like an oasis amidst the hustle and bustle. Inside its four walls lives my dog Jane, my hedgehog Penny, and myself! This is my favorite view of my home.
